2. HOW IS GÜLLAÇ MADE?

GÜLLAÇ NASIL YAPILIR

Güllaç, besides being a very easy dessert to make, requires the application of some tips for the desired taste and consistency. Among the most frequently asked questions to achieve the traditional taste are "How to moisten güllaç leaves?" and "How to use rose water in güllaç?". So, if all your güllaç ingredients are ready, you can proceed to the steps below that will answer all your questions!

2.1. Dessert and Decoration Preparation

  • Transfer the milk to a pot and cook it on the stove until it boils.

  • After letting the milk rest for a while, add rose water and three tablespoons of Balparmak Strained Flower Honey to it.

  • Shape the güllaç sheets to fit the tray or dish you will be serving them in. You can do this by cutting them or by softening and folding them.

  • Place the first layer of dough in the tray with the shiny side facing up.

  • Pour one to two ladles of honeyed milk over the dough and spread the second layer.

  • Repeat this process until you reach the middle layer of the güllaç. On top of the middle layer, spread the fruits and, if desired, sliced nuts.

  • Then, continue to layer the güllaç sheets and add milk until all are placed.

  • Decorate the top layer again with fruits. Finally, drizzle one tablespoon of Balparmak Strained Flower Honey lightly over it.

  • Your dessert is ready! You can now let the güllaç rest in the refrigerator and enjoy it after at least three hours.

Editor's Tip: When exposed to high temperatures, undesirable changes can be observed in the chemical structure of honey. Therefore, to preserve the nutritional value and natural structure of honey, you should ensure that the milk has cooled below 60 degrees Celsius before adding it. This process will also prevent the güllaç sheets from softening too much and becoming doughy.

Enjoy!
